Not a luxury. A clinical necessity.

Not a luxury. A clinical necessity.

AristoClinic’s Registered Massage Therapists go well beyond relaxation. Every session is a targeted, clinical treatment designed to resolve the tension, pain, and dysfunction that’s slowing you down. CMTO-certified. Direct billing available.

What Is Registered Massage Therapy?

More than a spa treatment.

Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) is a regulated health profession in Ontario, governed by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO). Every RMT at AristoClinic completed a minimum 2,200 hours of accredited clinical training.

When you book with an AristoClinic RMT, you’re not booking a relaxation service — you’re booking a clinical intervention — one that is assessed, documented, and adjusted session by session based on how your body is responding.

What does it actually treat?

Therapeutic massage works on your soft tissue — the muscles, tendons, ligaments, and fascia that hold your body together. Our RMTs use precise, evidence-informed manual techniques to release restrictions, break down adhesions, improve circulation, and restore normal tissue function — so you move better, hurt less, and recover faster.

Techniques

The right technique for your body.

Your RMT doesn’t arrive with a preset routine. They assess your tissue restrictions, pain patterns, and goals at each session — then combine the techniques most likely to produce results for you that day.

01

Swedish Massage

Long, flowing strokes that increase circulation, warm the tissue, lower cortisol, and prepare the body for deeper work. Highly effective for stress-related tension and as a standalone wellness treatment.

02

Deep Tissue & Myofascial Release

Sustained, firm pressure targeting deeper muscle and connective tissue to release chronic knots and trigger points, plus fascial work that restores glide and mobility throughout the whole system.

03

Sports, Prenatal & Trigger Point Therapy

Techniques adapted to athletic recovery, pregnancy, and precise compression of hyperirritable trigger points — matched to your specific presentation at every visit.

Who We Help

Your body carries your lifestyle. We carry the load.

Massage therapy at AristoClinic is tailored to what your specific body has been through — whether that’s a decade of desk work, a weekend sports injury, or the demands of pregnancy. Every session is built around your reality.

The Modern Professional

“Tech neck,” forward head posture, tight hip flexors from prolonged sitting, and carpal tunnel symptoms from keyboard work are the occupational injuries of our era. Our RMTs treat these patterns daily — and help you break the cycle before they become chronic.

The Active Adult & Athlete

Whether you’re training for a half marathon, playing recreational hockey, or hitting the gym regularly — massage therapy optimizes recovery time, prevents overuse injuries, and keeps your soft tissue performing at the level your training demands.

The Expectant or New Mother

Pregnancy places enormous demands on your body’s soft tissue and postural structure. Our RMTs are trained in prenatal and postnatal massage — providing safe, effective relief for back pain, round ligament tension, swollen legs, and the exhaustion of new parenthood.

The Senior Managing Chronic Pain

Arthritis, fibromyalgia, and age-related tissue changes don’t have to mean limitation. Regular therapeutic massage helps manage pain, maintain mobility, improve sleep quality, and restore ease in your body.

The Post-Surgical Patient

Once cleared by your surgeon, massage therapy is a powerful accelerator of post-surgical recovery — reducing scar tissue adhesion, restoring circulation, and easing the compensatory tension that builds in surrounding muscles during healing.

The MVA or Workplace Injury Claimant

Whiplash, soft tissue injuries from motor vehicle accidents, and work-related strains are covered under Ontario’s SABS and WSIB programs. Our RMTs document thoroughly and bill directly — so your recovery isn’t slowed by paperwork.

Do I need a doctor’s referral to see an RMT?

No. You can book a massage therapy appointment at Aristo Clinic directly. However, because many insurance companies classify RMT as a supplemental service, they may require a doctor’s referral before they reimburse your claim. We recommend checking your specific benefits plan beforehand.

What is the difference between a "Spa Massage" and an "RMT Massage"?

At Aristo Clinic, our massages are performed by Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs). While a spa focus is primarily on temporary relaxation, an RMT focuses on clinical outcomes—treating specific injuries, improving joint range of motion, and addressing chronic pain through a deep understanding of anatomy and physiology.

What should I expect during my first visit?

Your first session begins with a brief, 10–15 minute clinical assessment where your RMT will discuss your health history, identify your "trouble spots," and perform a quick physical check of your movement. The remainder of your appointment is dedicated to hands-on massage therapy. We ensure that even on your first visit, you receive the therapeutic treatment you need to start feeling better immediately.

How much clothing do I need to remove?

Your comfort is our absolute priority. You may undress to your level of comfort; many patients leave their undergarments on. You will be professionally draped with a sheet or blanket at all times, and only the specific area being treated will be uncovered.

Does a "Deep Tissue" massage have to hurt to be effective?

Not at all. While deep tissue work involves more intense pressure to reach underlying muscle layers, it should never be "unbearable." Our RMTs practice "tensing and releasing"—working with your breath to ensure the pressure is therapeutic, not painful. Always feel free to speak up if you'd like the pressure adjusted.

How will I feel after my massage?

Most patients feel a sense of profound relaxation and increased mobility. However, after a deep tissue or sports massage, it is common to feel some "therapeutic soreness" for 24–48 hours—similar to the feeling after a good workout. Drinking plenty of water post-treatment helps your muscles recover faster.

Is Massage Therapy covered by insurance?

Yes, most Extended Health Care (EHC) plans in Ontario cover treatment by a Registered Massage Therapist. We also accept claims for Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA). At Aristo Clinic, we offer direct billing to most major providers to make your recovery as stress-free as possible.

How often should I get a massage?

For acute injury recovery, we may suggest weekly sessions for a short period. For general maintenance and "tech-neck" prevention for North York professionals, a monthly visit is the "gold standard" to keep your muscles limber and prevent tension from building up.

Can I combine massage with my physiotherapy or chiropody treatments?

Absolutely! In fact, we encourage it. Our RMTs often work in tandem with our physiotherapists to loosen tight tissues before a rehab session, or with our chiropodist to address calf and lower-leg tension related to foot mechanics.
