AristoClinic’s licensed chiropodists provide medical-grade foot and ankle care — from custom orthotics and diabetic foot screening to ingrown nail surgery and biomechanical gait analysis. No referral needed. Direct billing available.
What Is Chiropody?
More than nail care.
Three Pillars
Three pillars of foot health.
Every chiropody visit at AristoClinic is built on three pillars that work together — biomechanics, clinical treatment, and prevention — to keep your feet, and everything above them, moving well.
01
Biomechanical Precision
Analysing how you walk, run, and stand to identify alignment issues in your feet that are creating strain in your knees, hips, and lower back — then correcting them with orthotics, exercise, and targeted treatment.
02
Clinical Treatment
Medical-grade care for skin and nail conditions that over-the-counter solutions can’t resolve — including nail surgery, wart therapy, wound debridement, and sterile instrument procedures unavailable at any nail salon.
03
Preventative Management
Specialised screenings for diabetic patients, ongoing monitoring of circulation and sensation, and proactive treatment protocols that prevent small foot problems from becoming serious long-term complications.
Conditions We Treat
If it’s affecting your feet or ankles, we treat it.
Chiropody at AristoClinic covers the full spectrum of foot and ankle conditions — structural, dermatological, neurological, and vascular. Below are the most common presentations we treat — though this list is far from exhaustive. If you don’t see yours, call us.

Who We Help
Every foot. Every stage of life.
Chiropody at AristoClinic serves a wide range of patients — from first-time runners dealing with heel pain, to seniors needing safe routine foot maintenance, to diabetic patients requiring ongoing clinical monitoring.
Runners & Active Adults
Plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, stress fractures, and runner’s knee are often driven by foot mechanics. Our gait analysis and custom orthotics address the root cause — not just the pain — so you can train without limitation.
Seniors & General Foot Maintenance
Thick nails, corns, calluses, and reduced circulation are common with age and genuinely affect quality of life. Our medical pedicure service provides safe, clinical-grade maintenance rather than a salon visit.
Diabetic Patients
Diabetes significantly increases the risk of foot complications — from neuropathy and poor circulation to slow-healing wounds and ulcers. Regular chiropody screening catches problems early and protects long-term foot health.
Nail & Skin Conditions
Ingrown nails, fungal infections, plantar warts, and persistent corns are clinical conditions — not cosmetic ones. Our chiropodists treat them with precision and sterile technique for long-term resolution.
Post-Surgical & Wound Care Patients
Foot wounds, surgical incisions, and ulcers that aren’t healing properly need specialist debridement, wound dressing, and monitoring — with the same clinical rigour applied to any regulated procedure at AristoClinic.
Professionals on Their Feet All Day
Nurses, teachers, tradespeople, and retail workers put enormous daily load through their feet. Custom orthotics and targeted treatment reduce fatigue, prevent overuse injuries, and keep you comfortable through a full working day.

Chiropody Questions, Answered
Do I need a doctor’s referral to see a Chiropodist?
No. In Ontario, chiropodists are primary healthcare providers, meaning you can book an assessment at Aristo Clinic directly. While you don’t need a referral to see us, some extended health insurance plans may require a doctor’s note to reimburse you for custom orthotics or specific procedures, so we recommend checking your policy.
What is the difference between a Chiropodist and a Podiatrist?
In Ontario, both are regulated foot specialists trained to assess and treat foot disorders. The main difference is where they were trained: "Podiatrist" usually refers to those trained in the US or before 1993 in Ontario, while "Chiropodist" is the modern title for those trained in Canada or the UK. Both provide high-level medical foot care, including nail surgery and orthotics.
What should I expect during my first foot assessment?
Your first visit is a comprehensive evaluation. We will review your medical history (including circulation and sensation), perform a biomechanical gait analysis, and physically examine your skin and nails. You will leave with a clear diagnosis and a personalized treatment plan, which includes your first round of clinical treatment.
Do you offer medical-grade sterilization for foot care?
Absolutely. Unlike a standard nail salon, Aristo Clinic follows strict hospital-grade sterilization protocols. Every instrument used for routine foot care or ingrown nail procedures is ultrasonically cleaned and autoclaved (steam sterilized) to ensure your safety and prevent infection.
Is Chiropody covered by insurance?
Yes, most Extended Health Care (EHC) plans in Ontario include coverage for Chiropody services and custom-made orthotics. We also provide documentation for specialized claims. We recommend contacting your provider to confirm your specific annual limits.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on your condition. A painful ingrown toenail or a wart might be resolved in 1–3 visits, whereas diabetic foot care or fungal nail treatments may require ongoing maintenance every 6–8 weeks. After your assessment, your chiropodist will give you an honest timeline for your recovery.
Does foot treatment hurt?
Most treatments, such as callus removal or routine nail care, are painless and provide immediate relief. For more invasive procedures, like ingrown toenail surgery, we use a local anesthetic to ensure you are completely numb and comfortable throughout the process.
Can you help with knee and back pain?
Yes! Because your feet are the foundation of your body, poor foot mechanics often lead to pain in the knees, hips, and lower back. Our biomechanical assessments and custom orthotics are designed to realign your gait and reduce strain on your upper joints.
Do you offer direct billing for foot care?
Yes! To make your visit to our Don Mills clinic as seamless as possible, we offer direct billing to the majority of major insurance providers. This reduces your out-of-pocket expenses and eliminates the paperwork on your end.
